BEAUMONT, Texas - Gearing up for their biggest road trip of the season, Lamar University's softball team will fly over the Gulf Coast to
Tallahassee, Fla., to partake in the Unconquered Invitational hosted by the #6 Florida State University Seminoles. Along with two meetings against the powerhouse FSU squad, LU will have two games with Troy University and one with Florida-Gulf Coast University.

Karyana Mitchell went the distance in the circle giving up two runs on six hits on just 105 pitches. The Cardinals fell in game two 6-4, but would see
Kaylee Ancelot drive in an RBI on three hits while
Aaliyah Ruiz passed Ciara Luna for second all-time in strikeouts in program history with 270.

Pitcher Leanna Johnson tallied a season-high 13 strikeouts while Jade Sinness recorded three hits on the night. Libby Baker is the top batter hitting .381, eight hits and two homers while both Sinness and D'Aun Riggs each have nine hits. Johnson is off to a 4-1 start to her season with an 0.68 ERA, three complete games, and 39 strikeouts.

Currently second in the ACC, the sixth-ranked Seminoles are coming off a tight 4-3 win over North Florida. They possess a 10-3 overall record, which includes a 7-1 record on their home field. Three players are currently with double-figures in hits with Kaley Mudge (12), Kalei Harding (11), and Mack Leonard. Harding has a team-high three homers while Leonard is the FSU RBI leader with 10 to date.
In the circle, the big three of Allison Royalty (1.15 ERA, 19 K) and Makenna Reid (1.91 ERA, 29 K), and Kathryn Sandercock (1.95 ERA, 27 K) all have ERAs under 2.0 and have combined for eight wins and 75 strikeouts. Sandercock leads all the pitching staff with 32.1 IP of work.
