Hamilton Named SLC Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University junior center Adam Hamilton has been named Southland Conference Player of the Week announced league officials Monday afternoon. It marks the first time this season that a Cardinal has received the honor, and the first time in Hamilton's career that he has been recognized.
 
A 6-9 center from Buckeye, Ariz., Hamilton led the team in scoring and rebounding as the Cardinals posted a 1-1 record during the week. Hamilton recorded consecutive double-doubles in the Cardinals' two games scoring 16 points and pulling down 14 rebounds in the victory over UTSA, while scoring 14 and pulling down 12 in a one-point loss at the University of the Pacific.
 
For the week, Hamilton averaged 15.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 0.5 assists per game.
 
Currently the team's second leading scorer (11.8 ppg), Hamilton is currently second in the league in rebounds (9.0 rpg) through the team's first four games.
 
The Cardinals return to action Friday when they travel to Farmville, Va., to take part in the Longwood MTE. The three-day, four-team tournament will consist of Bethune-Cookman, Longwood and Delaware.
