Kaeden Robinson chipped in 13 digs as the Cardinals came up short against Texas A&M-Commerce on the road, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 27-25), Saturday afternoon.

Lamar (1-19/1-8 SLC) ended the afternoon 38-23-127(.118) from the floor along with five aces. However, 23 attack errors cost the Cardinals dearly.

AMUC finished the match with an attack rate of 25 percent (44-14-120). The Lions also recorded 11 blocks to go with six aces.

The Cardinals got behind early in the opening set as the Lions jumped out to an 18-9 lead. A couple of kills by
Lyric Jordan and
Gracie Cassidy brought the team back to within two points, but ultimately, Commerce held on to take the set.

The second set saw the Lions jump out to an early lead that they would not relinquish. Lamar matched Commerce in terms of kills but were handcuffed by five attack errors and four service errors.

A back-and-forth affair in the third set saw neither team hold more than a three-point lead. Lamar was able to withstand three match points from Commerce late in the set before the Lions converted the fourth to secure the win.

The Cardinals are back in action Thursday when they host the Incarnate Word Cardinals at McDonald Gym. The match against UIW will begin at 6 p.m.
