BEAUMONT, Texas - As the 2022 football season gets closer, fans can be expected to get a new gameday experience throughout the year. Lamar University will introducing the Cardinal Cookoff Challenge Series.
At each Cardinal home football game this season, there will be a different cookoff challenge to take place outside Provost Umphrey Stadium. The competitions will range from Tacos, Burgers, BBQ, Cajun, and Chili.

9/17 vs. Northern Colorado - LU Football Taco Fiesta
10/1 vs. Tarleton State - Big Red's BBQ Classic (IBCA sanctioned (https://ibcabbq.org/contest-details/?contestid=10177))
10/22 vs. Prairie View A&M - Big Red's Burger Battle
10/29 vs. Southern Utah - Cardinal Cajun Cookoff
11/19 vs. Sam Houston - Gridiron Chili Challenge
