WACO, Texas – Lamar University softball looks to extend its winning streak to three when they play Baylor 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Getterman Stadium.

Big Red is on a two-game winning streak. The Cardinals have won four of their last seven games, including three of their last four. The team is 2-1 in the month of April.

Kinkade produced a walk-off RBI single to seal the run-rule victory March 29 over Houston Baptist. She also hit a solo home run to spark the Cardinal offense during a 5-3 victory over Tarleton State Saturday.

The Cardinals produced a second walk-off victory Friday night when junior catcher Felixia Hinojosa produced a walk-off single in the eighth inning to score a 3-2 victory over Tarleton State.

Senior pitcher Aaliyah Ruiz started three games last week. In those three games, she scored three victories and three complete games. In two of the three, she did not allow an earned run. Ruiz is currently fourth on the Lamar University all-time list with 216 strikeouts. She is 10 strikeouts shy of Shannon Millman, who is third on the all-time list, and 59 strikeouts from the all-time leader Laura Napoli.
