SOFTBALL CENTRAL: at Central Arkansas

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will close out the regular season on the road at Central Arkansas on Friday, May 7th and Saturday, May 8th at Farris Field in Conway, Arkansas.
 
Senior Hannah Carpenter leads the Cardinals at the plate as she is hitting .339 on the year with 38 hits, five doubles, two home runs and 14 runs batted in. Freshman Audry Fleming follows suite with a .238 batting average on 15 hits with two home runs and four runs batted in. Junior Aaliyah Ruiz leads Lamar in the circle with a 5.68 ERA and has struck out 39 batters in 65.1 innings of work.
 
The Cardinals and Sugar Bears are slated to play a double header on Friday beginning with game one at 4 p.m. and the second game to beginning at least 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. There will be only one game slated for Saturday with a first pitch of 1 p.m. at Farris Field.
