SOFTBALL CENTRAL: vs. Northwestern State

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will welcome Northwestern State for a Southland Conference series on Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th.
 
The Cardinals are led at the plate by senior Hannah Carpenter as she is hitting .333 on the year with three doubles, one triple and two home runs. Junior Aleka Xayaseng follows Carpenter with a .228 batting average. In the circle, Shelby Mixon leads the Cards with 23 strikeouts in 18 appearances on the year.
 
Lamar and the Lady Demons are set for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. on Friday with game two set to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one. Saturday will see just one contest between the two with first pitch set for 12 p.m. at the LU Softball Complex.

Last outing: The Cardinals captured a series win in 2019 over the Lady Demons. In the rubber match, Lamar captured a 5-0 victory to capture the series.
Key Info: Northwestern State is led by E.C. Delafield at the plate as she hits .350 with five doubles and 13 runs scored. Delafield also leads the Lady Demons in the circle with a 1.76 ERA and tags on 48 strikeouts through 55.2 innings pitched this season.
