BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will welcome Northwestern State for a Southland Conference series on Friday, April 9^th and Saturday, April 10^th.
 
The Cardinals are led at the plate by senior Hannah Carpenter as she is hitting .333 on the year with three doubles, one triple and two home runs. Junior Aleka Xayaseng follows Carpenter with a .228 batting average. In the circle, Shelby Mixon leads the Cards with 23 strikeouts in 18 appearances on the year.
 
Lamar and the Lady Demons are set for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. on Friday with game two set to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one. Saturday will see just one contest between the two with first pitch set for 12 p.m. at the LU Softball Complex.
