BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will close out the home side of the 2021 schedule when they welcome Nicholls to the LU Softball Complex for a three-game series beginning on Friday, April 30^th. This weekend's series will also see Senior Weekend in effect as the Cardinals will honor seniors Victoria Garivey and Hannah Carpenter.
 
Leading the Cardinals offensively is Hannah Carpenter as she is hitting .337 on the year with four doubles, one triple and 12 runs batted in. She also leads the team with two home runs. In the circle, Lamar is led by Shelby Mixon who has pitched 96.2 innings on the year with 42 strikeouts while tossing seven complete games.
 
The Cardinals and the Colonels are set for a first pitch time of 4 p.m. CT on Friday, April 30^th with game two of the afternoon beginning at least 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Both teams will then meet again on Saturday, May 1^st for the series finale at noon.
