SOFTBALL CENTRAL: vs. UIW

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will welcome the league's other Cardinals of UIW to the LU Softball Complex for a three-game series beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 17th.
 
The Cardinals are led at the plate by senior Hannah Carpenter as she is hitting .319 on the year with four doubles, one triple and two home runs. Junior Aleka Xayaseng follows Carpenter with a .227 batting average. In the circle, Shelby Mixon leads the Cards with 32 strikeouts in 19 appearances on the year.
 
Lamar and UIW were originally scheduled for a Friday-Saturday series, but due to impending inclement weather on Friday evening the series was pushed back a day. The doubleheader will now start on Saturday, April 17th at 3 p.m. with game two set to begin at 5 (or 30 minutes after game one) and a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
