BEAUMONT, Texas – For the second time in a week, the Lamar University baseball team arrived at the stadium for a Southland Conference game only to be denied by Mother Nature. Due to expected thunderstorms in the Beaumont area Friday's series opener against Nicholls has been canceled.
 
Friday's rainout will be made up with a doubleheader on Sunday. Start time for Sunday's first game will remain 1 p.m., with the second game set to start at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday's first game will be seven innings followed by a nine-inning game. The two teams will now open the series with Saturday's doubleheader (two nine-inning games) which has been moved to an 11 a.m. start, followed by the second game at 2 p.m.
