BEAUMONT, Texas – After capturing the midweek contests, the Lamar University softball program will head back on the road to Lake Charles, La. when they will take on McNeese in Southland play.
The Cardinals are led by senior
Hannah Carpenter at the plate as she hits .352 on the season with three doubles, two home runs and 10 runs batted in. Freshman
Aleka Xayaseng follows Carpenter with a .207 batting average and as tallied nine runs scored on 18 total bases. In the circle, junior
Aaliyah Ruiz has made eight appearances for the Cardinals and in 34.0 innings of work she has struck out 22 batters.
Lamar and the Cowgirls will open up play with a single contest on Friday night and concluding the series with a doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Cowgirl Diamond.
