SOFTBALL CENTRAL: at Stephen F. Austin

BEAUMONT, Texas -- The Lamar University softball program will go back on the road when they travel north to Nacogdoches, Texas to face Stephen F. Austin on the diamond at the SFA Softball Complex on Friday, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th. 

The Cardinals are led by senior Hannah Carpenter at the plate as she hits .333 on the season with two doubles, two home runs and nine runs batted in. Junior Savana Mata follows Carpenter with a .206 batting average and has tallied two doubles. In the circle, junior Aaliyah Ruiz has made eight appearances for the Cardinals and in 34.0 innings of work she has struck out 22 batters.

Lamar and the Ladyjacks will open up play with a doubleheader on Friday with game one starting at 3:00 p.m. and game two beginning at least 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. The teams will look to complete the series on Saturday with a single contest with a 12:00 p.m. first pitch.
