BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will open up Southland Conference at Southeastern Louisiana from Friday, March 12^th to Saturday, March 13^th at North Oak Park in Hammond, La.
 
The Cardinals will open play with a 4 p.m. doubleheader against the Lions and follow up with a noon contest on Saturday. The contests on Friday evening are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+. Live stats for both days can be found at www.LionSports.net/sidearmstats/softball.
 
Senior Hannah Carpenter leads the Cards at the plate where she averages .364 with two home runs and seven runs batted in. Junior Aleka Xayaseng follows Carpenter with a .200 average with 11 hits and 11 total bases.
