Softball Travels to Southeastern to Open SLC Play

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball program will open up Southland Conference at Southeastern Louisiana from Friday, March 12th to Saturday, March 13th at North Oak Park in Hammond, La.
 
The Cardinals will open play with a 4 p.m. doubleheader against the Lions and follow up with a noon contest on Saturday. The contests on Friday evening are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+. Live stats for both days can be found at www.LionSports.net/sidearmstats/softball.
 
Senior Hannah Carpenter leads the Cards at the plate where she averages .364 with two home runs and seven runs batted in. Junior Aleka Xayaseng follows Carpenter with a .200 average with 11 hits and 11 total bases.

Last outing: The Lions captured the series win over the Cardinals in April of 2019, capturing the final game, 1-0, over Lamar.
