BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University ran into a hot-hitting Tarleton State team Saturday afternoon falling to the TexAnns, 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-18), on Senior Day. The loss ends LUs season at 4-22 overall and 0-12 in Western Athletic Conference play.
 
Prior to the match LU honored its lone senior Hayleigh Moreno.
 
The Cardinals finished the day hitting .119 (28-18-84) from the field. While LU was struggling to find its rhythm, Tarleton got out to a quick start. The TexAnns recorded a .400 attack percentage (43-9-85) on the afternoon. TSU was led by 13 kills (.765) on 17 attempts from Elise Smith.
 
The Cardinals were led by nine kills on 14 swings (.571) from Malaysia Murdock, and eight kills and five digs from Kaitlyn Gil. Moreno got the start at libero for the Red and White and ended the day with eight digs.
