NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Lamar University never managed to find their rhythm falling to Stephen F. Austin, 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-16) Thursday evening at Shelton Gym. The Cardinals recorded a match-high .233 attack percentage in the second set but couldn't manage to repeat that effort for the rest of the night (32-18-91/.154).
The Cardinals were led by freshman
Paige Dugan's eight kills on 23 attempts. She also added three digs on the night. Big Red also got seven kills from
Amber Johnson and
Kaitlyn Gil. The Port Neches, Texas native also added nine digs and two aces.
London Hatch recorded a team-high 14 assists.
SFA finished the night with a .425 percentage (42-8-80). The Ladyjacks were led by 15 kills from Valeria Rosado.
Big Red returns to action Saturday when they travel to Huntsville to take on Sam Houston. The match against the Bearkats will begin at 1 p.m. from Johnson Coliseum.
