BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's basketball program fell on Saturday afternoon in Houston, Texas to Houston Baptist by a final decision of 72-59.
The Cardinals could not get anything going there way in the first half as the Huskies went up 36-28 in the first half. The Huskies were led by Julija Vujakovic who finished with 21 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field. She also tallied three steals and one block against the Cardinals.
Lamar was led by sophomore
Angel Hastings, who finished the night shooting 10-for-17 from the field that included 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. The San Antonio, Texas native, finished the afternoon with 26 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Senior
Briana Laidler picked up her fourth double-double of the season in the loss with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Port Orange, Fla., native, finished the afternoon shooting 5-for-7 from the field.
