Softball Falls to Texas A&M

Box Score COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Lamar University softball program fell to host Texas A&M on Friday afternoon at the Davis Diamond in six innings, 8-0.

The Cardinals did not get anything going their way in the second contest of the day. The Aggie pitching staff was able to keep the Cardinal bats at bay during the game as Makinzy Herzog got the start for the Aggies and tossed a one hitter.

Senior Shannon Klaus finished the contest going 2-for-3 with a single up the middle in the first.  Senior Elizabeth Castillo went 1-for-2 on the afternoon with a single up the middle.

The Cardinals fall to 2-5 on the year and will continue play at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday, February 15 against St. John's and Texas A&M at the Davis Diamond.

UP NEXT: The Cardinals will play host to the annual Cardinal Classic that will be at the LU Softball Complex from February 21 to 23 with the tournament field including St. John's, Northern Colorado and your Lamar Cardinals.
