Mike Schultz Radio Show Begins Thursday

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University head football coach Mike Schultz kicks off his weekly radio call-in show Thursday at 7 p.m. on the Cardinals' flagship station, Newstalk 560 KLVI. The show will once again be hosted live from the Neches River Wheelhouse in Port Neches, Texas.

Schultz will be joined by LU play-by-play voice Harold Mann each week to recap the previous game, look ahead to the next opponent as well as take questions from fans. Those unable to attend the show in person can still take part by calling into the one-hour program. The dedicated numbers for the show are (409) 896-5584, or 1-800-330-5584.

Schultz is 2-0 to start his third season with the Red and White. Last season, the Cardinals made the jump from a 2-9 program in 2017 to a team that rallied to win six straight and advance to the postseason for the first time in school history the next season. Despite graduating a huge senior class, the Cardinals have their eyes focused on bigger and better in 2019. The Cardinals are off to a strong start with wins over Bethel University and Mississippi Valley State, but will face its toughest test of the season Saturday at Texas A&M. The game against the Aggies will kick off at 6 p.m. from Kyle Field.

The Cardinals enter Saturday's contest looking to protect an eight-game regular season win streak which dates back to LU's thrilling last second victory over Incarnate Word last season. The game can be heard live on Newstalk 560 KLVI and will be televised on ESPNU.
