BEAUMONT, Texas – For the first time in more than five decades, the Lamar University football team will host a game not played on a Saturday. The 2019 season opener against Bethel (TN) University will kick off Thursday, Aug. 29^th at 7 p.m. from Provost Umphrey Stadium. In preparation for the game the A-2, A-3, A-4 and A-5 lots will be closed on the 29^th for tailgating and the game.
 
Due to the lot closures, the following lots are suggested as alternates for that day – H-2, H-3, H-8 and T-8. A shuttle will also be provided for students that will run from the H-2 and H-3 lots to E-4, located between the Plummer and Lucas Buildings. The shuttle will begin at 6 a.m. and run through 6 p.m.
 
Individuals traveling to campus on Thursday, Aug. 29^th are encouraged to arrive early and carpool if possible.
 
All students will be allowed to park in any non-reserved lot during Thursday's season opener, but any parking in a fire lane or gated lot will result in a citation. A parking map can be viewed by clicking here. For further information, please contact the LU Parking Office at parking@lamar.edu.
