FORT WORTH, Texas - Heading into the final week of the 2019 season, Lamar University (16-33) will play its final non-conference game of the year on Tuesday with a mid-week game at Texas Christian University (28-21). The Cardinals and Frogs will meet for the 15th time overall and the fifth time in 10 years.
THE LAST TIME OUT - AT GONZAGA - MAY 10-12
A solo home run in a very small field proved the difference Friday in the first of three games between Lamar and Gonzaga. The Cardinals overcame an opponent's perfect game through five innings with a five-run, six-hit sixth inning, but the Zags got long balls in the first, second, and eighth innings to
eek out a 7-6 win over Big Red.
It just wasn't Lamar's night Saturday in the second game between the Cardinals and Gonzaga. LU had luck break against it from the first at-bat and the Zags jumped on the chance.
Struggling in the series finale, Lamar got a couple of bright spots in the game whenÂ
Robin Adames got within six hits of the LU career record andÂ
Cole Girouard made a great over-the-shoulder catch. Even so Gonzaga emerged with a
22-4 decision over the Cardinals.
