BEAUMONT, Texas – With summer just around the corner, the Lamar University men's basketball team has released its summer camp schedule. The Cardinals will be holding their camps in the Montagne Center on the LU campus during the month of June.
 
The first camp will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 14, while the second camp is slated to begin Monday, June 25 through Thursday, June 28. The camps will begin at 9 a.m. each morning and end at 3 p.m., with the only change from that schedule being the final day of both camps. On Thursday of each week, the camp will end at noon.
 
The camps are for boys ages 6-18 and will cost $185 per camper, with a $50 non-refundable deposit due at registration. Campers are urged to dress in shorts, camp t-shirt and comfortable athletic shoes. All campers will receive a t-shirt and basketball, with certificates for contest winners.
 
The Cardinals' Summer Basketball Camp allows boys the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game from LU head coach Tic Price, and his staff, in a safe and fun environment.
 
In addition to learning from the LU coaches, campers will also get a chance to meet members of the 2017-18 Cardinals basketball team. The Cardinals advanced to the postseason for the second consecutive season after another 19-win campaign. It was the first time since the 1983-84 and 1984-85 seasons that LU has recorded 19 wins in back-to-back seasons.
