LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Senior Sam Dumez fired a four-under par 68 to lead the field Monday afternoon at the Little Rock Invitational on the 7,236-yard, par-72, Chenal Country Club Course in Little Rock, Ark. Not only is Dumez topping the individual leaderboard, but Lamar University is tied for first (UNLV) with a 289.
 
Teams were scheduled to play two rounds Monday, but play was suspended with three holes remaining in the second due to darkness. Teams will pick up where the left off beginning Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. before moving onto the third and final round.
 
Due to the suspended play, only first round results are official heading into Tuesday's action.
 
Although Dumez had a strong round, he wasn't the only Cardinal being relied on Monday. Freshman Hugo Hellman fired a one-over 73 and is currently tied for 14^th overall. Hellman ended the day just a stroke up on teammate Eason Wang who carded a 74 (tied for 22^nd).
 
Wang wasn't the only Cardinas to open the second round with a two over. Teammate Cody Banach also recorded an identical round to close out the top four scores for the Red and White. Sophomore Juho Kurikka ended the day for LU when he walked into the clubhouse with a five-over 77.
 
The Cardinals will step on the course Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. to finish the final three holes of round No. 2, before opening the third and final round.
 
The Little Rock Invitational will serve as the final tournament for the Cardinals of the fall semester. LU's next tournament will come in February at the All-American Intercollegiate in Houston.
