ESTERO, Fla. — Lamar University posted its lowest round of the tournament, firing an 11-under-par 277 in Tuesday's final round of the West Bay Collegiate Invitational at West Bay Club.
The Cardinals finished 14th in the 15-team field with a three-round score of 877 (304-296-277).
Matthew Bramford climbed 13 spots in the final round to finish tied for ninth.
Bramford carded two eagles, three birdies and 11 pars en route to a 5-under-par round.
He played the front nine at 4-under and added a 1-under back nine to secure his top 10 finish.
Nathan Woodham also made a strong move up the leaderboard, climbing 27 spots to finish tied for 11th.
Woodham carded eight birdies in the final round, including four during a bogey-free 4-under-par back nine.
He closed with four birdies and five pars over his final nine holes to secure a top 15 finish.
Rory Bennett closed with a 1-under-par 71, recording four birdies, an eagle and nine pars.
Competing as an individual,
Fermin Martinez posted an even-par 72 in the final round behind five birdies and nine pars.
Martinez carded four birdies on the front nine before closing with five consecutive pars on the back nine.
The Cardinals recorded 22 birdies, three eagles and 61 pars in the final round.
For the tournament, Lamar totaled 56 birdies and 168 pars. The Cardinals also led the 15-team field with six eagles.
Tournament host Florida Gulf Coast captured the team title with a 54-hole score of 831 (276-282-273), finishing one stroke ahead of Lipscomb.
Stetson's Uy Doan claimed medalist honors with a tournament score of 203 (68-67-68), two shots clear of Florida Gulf Coast's Christian Figueredo.
