OXFORD, Miss. – The Lamar Lady Cardinals failed to knock the Ole Miss Rebels from the ranks of the unbeaten on the final day of the Rebel Classic in women’s college volleyball action on Saturday.

Ole Miss improved to 13-0 with a 3-0 win over Lamar (0-12), winning by scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-17.

Cortney Moore led Lamar with seven kills, while Chelsea Grant and Carlyn Stella added six kills apiece for the Lady Cardinals. Moore represented Lamar on the all-tournament team.

Kelsey Beard had six block assists for the Lady Cardinals. Erika Rojas had 11 digs, while Ashley Ellis contributed 25 assists.

Ty Laporte and Nakeyta Clair led Ole Miss with nine kills apiece.

The Lady Cardinals play their first home match of the season when they host Sam Houston State at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at McDonald Gym in the Southland Conference opener for both squads.
