Biography

2014 Season:
• The conference’s second leading hitter in terms of hitting percentage (.331) and ranked eighth in kills per set (3.37).
• Led Lamar in kills (347), kills per set and hitting percentage.
• Second on the team in total blocks and blocks per set.
• She and Chelsea Grant were the only two players to play in all 103 sets in 28 matches.
• Accounted 19 double-digit kill matches, including nine matches of 15 or more.
• Had 22 kills in five sets against Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 8), a team high and career high.
• Registered 19 kills against Northern Arizona (Sept. 5) and at Northwestern State (Oct. 23).
• Racked up 15 kills and eight blocks against Sam Houston St. (Sept. 27).
• Also had eight blocks at Sam Houston St. (Oct. 14), had 11 kills in that match.
• Had 17 kills and only one error versus Samford on Sept. 19 for a .593 hitting percentage- her highest of her career.
• Finished with nine kills and only one error for a .571 percentage.
• Had a .500 percentage with two errors and 17 kills in the season opener versus Texas State.
• Put together eight-straight games of double-digit kill streak from Sept. 27-Oct. 23, had 10 of 11 10 or more kill matches.
 
2013 Season:
• Appeared in 102 sets.
•  Ranked 13th in the Southland in attack percentage, averaging 2.67 kills per set at a .254 clip.
•  Led team in block solos with 20, and ranked second on the team overall with 67, posting 0.66 per set.
•  Added 19 digs and a trio of service aces.
•  Hit .440 with 13 kills against Houston (Aug. 30).
•  Followed up a day later with 15 kills at a .423 rate with three blocks in a win over Quinnipiac.
•  Hit .462 with seven kills in a win at Nicholls (Sept. 21).
•  Hit .310 and racked up 15 kills and three blocks against Houston Baptist (Sept. 26).
•  Returned to the court two days later to register 12 kills and a season-best six blocks against A&M-Corpus Christi.
•  Helped Lady Cards to back-to-back wins over Southeastern Louisiana (Oct. 17) and New Orleans (Oct .19), picking up 23 kills with a .315 attack percentage as well as five blocks, including three of the solo variety.
•  Followed up by hitting .333 with 14 kills and six blocks at Northwestern State (Oct. 24).
•  Hit .500 for a weekend, putting up a season-best 16 kills with three blocks in a win over Nicholls (Nov. 7) and keeping it going with 12 kills and a pair of stoppers vs. McNeese State (Nov. 9).
•  Registered double-digit kills in 15 matches, and recorded at least one block in 23
•  Put up multiple blocks on 18 occasions.
• Posted double-digit kills in four matches and recorded at least four blocks on 17 occasions.
 
2012 Season:
• Southland Freshman of the Year.
•  Appeared in 107 sets.
•  Ranked ninth in the Southland with a .254 attack percentage.
•  Totaled 236 kills at a 2.21 per set rate.
•  Led team in blocks with 88, including 16 of the solo variety.
•  Averaged 0.82 blocks per set.
•  Also added 20 service aces and 40 digs.
•  Made fantastic debut with 12 kills and six blocks, including four solos, in win against Prairie View A&M (Aug. 25).
•  Hit .520 with 15 kills in win over ETSU (Sept. 8).
•  Added 15 more with a .379 attack percentage at Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 15).
•  Hit .417 with 13 kills and three blocks at McNeese State (Sept. 29).
•  Posted five kills and set career best in blocks with seven vs. Sam Houston St.
•  Put up 12 kills, four digs and a career-best four aces vs. Nicholls (10/16).
•  Racked up 11 kills, four service aces and five blocks against Southeastern Louisiana (Oct. 23).
•  Picked up 11 kills at a .375 rate with four digs and four blocks to go along with a pair of service aces at A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 8).
•  Posted double-digit kills 10 times.
•  Put up at least one block in 29 out of 30 matches.
•  Recorded a service ace on 10 occasions, and multiple aces five times.
 
High School:
• Played for Julio Martinez at Eisenhower HS.
• Earned First Team All-District 18-5A all four years.
• Also named First Team All-Academic three times.
• Averaged 3.78 kills per set as a senior.
• Earned All-District 18-5A honors in basketball as well.
• Competed on the club level for Texas Thunder and Houston Juniors.
 
Personal:
• Born Cortney C. Moore on August 25, 1994, in New Orleans, La.
• Father, William, and Mother, Giselle, played basketball and volleyball, respectively, at New Orleans.
• Sister, Clairissa, played volleyball at Alabama A&M.
• Wants to earn her piloting license and travel the world to learn and experience different clothes.
