Baseball falls 10-0 at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. – The Lamar baseball team will be looking to get back on track on Friday after falling 10-0 in seven innings on Thursday night to Southland foe Central Arkansas at Bear Stadium.

Lamar dropped to 21-7 on the year with a 1-3 mark in conference play. UCA improved to 20-6 and 1-3, respectively.

Darian Johnson, Brad Picha and Zach Luevanos each collected a hit on the day, but the Bears were better at the plate, out-hitting the Cardinals 10-3.

On the mound, David Carver got the start and tossed four innings, allowing six runs on six hits, and Will Hibbs gave up four more on four hits in an inning of work. Ben Coram also made an appearance and pitched a scoreless sixth.

Bear starter Caleb McClanahan went the distance and struck out four.

The two sides will return to action on Friday as Eric Harrington stands on the precipice of history. The senior is one start away from the most in school history, and just 2.2 innings from the top spot in innings pitched. He is 4-0 this season.

First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m.
