MALIBU, Calif. - The Lamar women's soccer team had its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 6-0 loss at eighth-ranked Pepperdine on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Cardinals (3-4-1), who trailed 5-0 at halftime, played a strong second half, limiting the Wave (8-0-3) to one goal.
Five players had one goal apiece for Pepperdine, which also scored on an own goal. Lamar goalkeeper Jennifer Gibbs made three saves for the Lady Cardinals. Roxanne Barker and Carolyn Dapper shared the shutout for Pepperdine, which outshot Lamar 15-0.
Lamar returns to action at 1 p.m. (Central) Sunday with a game at UC Riverside.
