Lady Cards fall in overtime

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Andrea Morales scored early in the first overtime to give host UC Riverside a 1-0 victory over Lamar in a non-conference women's soccer game Sunday.

Jennifer Gibbs made six saves for Lamar (3-5-1), which was outshot 20-7.

Morales scored at the 2:26 mark of overtime, beating Gibbs from 15 yards out. Deborah Musa had the assist on the goal.

Jessica Olafsen made three saves to get the shutout for the Highlanders (5-5-1). Kimmy Albeno led Lamar with three shots.

The Lady Cardinals return to action at 1 p.m. Sunday when they open Southland Conference play at McNeese State.
