BEAUMONT, Texas - Jasmin Henderson came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points to lead the Lamar University women's basketball team to an 84-54 victory over visiting Tennessee Martin in a non-conference game Tuesday night.
Jenna Plumley led Lamar (3-1) in scoring with 17 points, going 6-of-8 from the field, including 5-of-6 from 3-point range. Plumley also had a game-high six assists as the Lady Cardinals ran their winning streak to three games.
Trashanna Smith had 15 points and Kalis Loyd had 10 points as Lamar had four players score in double figures. Loyd also added career highs of five assists and six steals.
Cali Cupples had a career-high 21 points for Tennessee Martin (0-3). Lamar had a 38-26 edge in rebounding for the game and shot a blistering 11-of-20 (55 percent) from 3-point land.
Lamar will travel to Waco, Texas, to compete in the World Vision Classic hosted by Baylor University from Nov. 27-29. Lamar will meet Louisiana-Lafayette on Nov. 27, Idaho on Nov. 28 and Baylor on Nov. 29.
The next home game for the Lady Cardinals is set for 12:05 p.m. Dec. 2 vs. Huston-Tillotson.
