SHREVEPORT, La. - The Lamar University women's basketball team opened a four-game road stretch Tuesday night, falling 80-68 to the Centenary Ladies at the Gold Dome in Shreveport, La.

The Lady Cardinals had no answer for Centenary's Holli Wilkins, who poured in a game-high 30 points while passing out seven assists, helping the Ladies (2-8) to their second win of the season. Lamar, who is off until they play next Wednesday at IUPUI, dropped to 3-5 on the year with the loss.

Lamar went on a run late in the game which saw it get as close as seven points with 1:21 to play. The Lady Cards, however, could get no closer as Centenary responded by closing out the game with a 6-1 run to win 80-68.

The first half saw Lamar jump out to an early lead, but Centenary was able to build a nine-point lead behind 12 second chance points.
