NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Road continued to be rough on the Lamar University women's basketball team Wednesday night, as they dropped their fourth straight decision with an 83-70 loss at the hands of the Tulane Green Wave at Fogelman Arena.

The Green Wave used several runs to establish the tempo of the game. Lamar was able to whether the storm for the majority of the game, but could not overcome a hot start to the second half by Tulane.

Trailing by three points at 37-34 at halftime, the Lady Cardinals and Tulane traded baskets for the first five minutes of the half before the Green Wave went on a 9-0 run to open up a double digit lead at the 13:07 mark. They got up by as much as 16 points on two occasions and LU was never able to get back within single digits for the remainder of the game.

Lamar got as close as 10 points on a free throw by LaToya Carson with 4:40 to play, but Tulane's Jami Montagnino quickly answered with a three pointer.

Tulane Jumped out to a 10 point lead midway through the first half, but the Lady Cardinals did not allow the Green Wave to waltz away with the game. Lamar charged back into the game as they were able to beat the tough defensive pressure of the Green Wave with long passes which led to easy buckets.

The Lady Cards got to within three points and had a chance to tie the game heading to the break but an Alexis Timpone three pointer came up just short at the buzzer.

For the game the Lady Cardinals were led by Carson who score 21 points, her second straight game in the 20's and third game on the four game road stretch in which she scored 20 or more points.

Brittney Williams was also a key factor for the Lady Cardinals, picking up her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points 12 rebounds. Shaquita Coffey had a solid night as well, scoring 10 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
