Jordan Gillon was hired as an assistant coach and video coordinator in September 2024. Gillon makes his way to the Golden Triangle from Baton Rouge, La., where he spent the previous two seasons serving as a graduate assistant coach at LSU. The Houston native had an active role in the day-to-day responsibilities of a Division I program.
He made the move to LSU from the junior college ranks where he spent the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach at Panola College. During his time on staff, Panola recorded one of its best finishes in school history. The Ponies earned a top-three seed in Region XIV.
Gillon was charged with working with the Panola big men. During his lone season on campus, he produce two of the region’s top four rebounders.
Gillon made the leap to collegiate basketball from the club level where he spent two seasons working with the Houston Defenders AAU squad. During his time as an assistant coach (U15 – U17), the Defenders reached the 2019 finals. In 2020, all eight of his players signed NCAA Division I scholarships.
Gillon received his bachelor's degree from Texas Southern in May 2021. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from LSU in December 2023.
