Jonathan Scroggins joined Lamar University Athletics as Manager of Sales & Service in August 2024, bringing a dynamic background in sports business, hospitality, and community engagement to the Cardinals family. In his role, Jonathan oversees all aspects of ticket sales and service operations, including season ticket sales, group experiences, premium seating, and fan engagement initiatives. He is passionate about creating memorable game-day experiences, cultivating strong relationships with fans, and driving the growth of Lamar’s loyal supporter base.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jonathan has built a diverse career blending sports, operations, and service. Before coming to Lamar, he served in various roles across the sports and hospitality industries, including as Responsible Gambling Manager at SuperBook Sports, Data Journalist at Sportradar, and Program Coordinator for Brigham Young University’s worldwide youth programs. He began his career serving communities in Lima, Peru for a two-year LDS Church service mission, then went to school and started at Utah State University’s Athletic Ticket Office, where he learned the nuts and bolts of outbound sales and donor stewardship. Subsequent roles with the Utah Outliers (Assistant Stadium Intern) and Salmonjohn Apparel (Logistics Analyst) broadened his expertise in event operations and supply-chain efficiency.
Jonathan earned his Master of Science degree in Hospitality & Sports Management from The University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts in Parks and Recreation from Utah State University. His academic training complements his practical expertise in sales strategy, event management, and customer experience, equipping him to elevate Lamar’s ticketing and service operations to new heights.
At Lamar, Jonathan has led efforts to expand group sales, introduce creative mini-plans, and develop premium fan experiences that showcase the Cardinals’ spirit and value. His ability to analyze data, craft innovative sales packages, and mentor his team reflect his commitment to both results and relationships.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jonathan is deeply committed to serving his community. A certified Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) and former Volunteer Disaster Preparedness Coordinator (FEMA, VOAD, EMF-LV), he has worked to train and assist congregations in disaster readiness and response, earning recognition for his dedication to helping others in times of need.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys traveling, attending rodeos and sporting events, and spending time with his family across the world.
