A former standout for Lamar University, Haruki Omori-Cowie makes the transition from player to coach for the Red and White. A former four-year letterwinner under the direction of LU head coach Scott Shankles, Omori-Cowie joined the Cardinals' coaching staff in August 2025.
As a player, Omori-Cowie played all six singles positions and all three doubles positions earning second-team All-Southland Conference honors during his junior year. Omori-Cowie won 40 matches during his time on the courts despite battling through an injury-plagued rookie season. He recorded 20 wins in singles play and 20 on the doubles courts.
Omori-Cowie graduated from Lamar with his bachelor's degree in May 2025.
