Hannah Gentry

Hannah Gentry joined the Lamar University women’s basketball staff in the summer of 2019. She came to LU from the University of Cincinnati women’s basketball staff, where she spent time as the Director of Recruiting and most recent was the Director of Recruiting Operations.

Before going to Cincinnati, Gentry attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas on an academic scholarship and served as team manager with the Aggie women’s basketball program. In the position, she was responsible for many diverse player-development activities including team community involvement, student-athlete academic monitoring, and practice and game operations. 

Prior to her time at Texas A&M, Gentry was a student assistant with the John Brown University women’s basketball team in Arkansas during her sophomore year and, as a freshman, was a student-athlete in both basketball and volleyball at Moody Bible Institute in downtown Chicago. Throughout her college career, Gentry was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society.

In addition to her playing and administrative experience, Gentry has held various positions as a coach, coordinator, and media relations liaison while working with former WNBA player, coach, and Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman, at both the Nancy Lieberman Basketball Camp and the Nancy Lieberman Foundation. Gentry has also been very involved in personal community service efforts including sports-related mission trips to Central America, South America, Africa, and Asia.

Gentry graduated from Texas A&M in 2016, earning her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in sports conditioning and double minors in both coaching and psychology.
