TJ Aanenson started his position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in August of 2019. At Lamar, Aanenson is responsible for all aspects of training for Softball, as well as, assisting with the training of Football, Baseball, and Track and Field. He is working to complete his Master of Science in Kinesiology degree.

Prior to his time at Lamar, Aanenson spent the Summer of 2019 as an intern with the Strength and Conditioning staff for Olympic Sports at the University of Minnesota. At Minnesota, he assisted with all aspects of training for Track and Field Sprinters, Jumpers, and Throwers, Cross Country, Women’s Soccer, Wrestling, Baseball, Swimming and Diving, Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics, and Tennis.

Aanenson began his career as an intern at Chadron State College in 2018. Over the next two years, he worked with several sports including Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Wrestling, Track and Field, and Cross Country. In this role, he served as an assistant coach as well as the Nutrition Center Coordinator, with an emphasis on Nutrition Education. During this period, he was promoted to Chadron State’s first Paid Strength & Conditioning Intern.

He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Exercise Nutrition Coach.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Art in Sport Management & Exercise Science from Chadron State College, while double-minoring in Business and Nutrition & Wellness.
