Austin St.Cyr started his position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Lamar University in January of 2020.  At Lamar, St.Cyr is responsible for all aspects of training for Men’s and Women’s Track & Field, Men’s Tennis, and Women’s Tennis, as well as, assisting with the training of Football. He is working to complete his Master of Science in Kinesiology degree.

St.Cyr comes to Lamar from the University of North Carolina, Pembroke (UNCP) as the Interim Co-Director of Athletic Performance.  From September of 2018 to January 2020 St.Cyr was in charge of the Football, Women’s Basketball, Softball, Track Throws, and Women’s Soccer teams.  As Interim Co-Director of Athletic Performance St.Cyr also took part in remodeling both the Jones and Caton Weight Rooms, while handling other administrative duties such as team schedules, football nutrition, and intern development.

Prior to UNCP, St.Cyr began his career interning with UCLA’s Football Performance Staff during the Summer of 2018 where he gained considerable knowledge on the ins and outs of Division 1 College Football.  He assisted with the implementation of the UCLA Football Strength & Conditioning program, which was designed to reduce injury while increasing the strength, agility, speed, and power of the student-athletes.  He also assisted with daily nutrition for the team.

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Level 1 Sport Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.

St.Cyr received his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology with a Minor in Exercise Science from the California State University, Chico in May of 2018.
