Biography

Has played in 71 games earning 44 starts during his career … Currently ranks second all-time in program history with 200 three-point field goals … Tied the Southland Conference and LU record for three-pointers in a game (11) … An SLC Player of the Week selection ... Has scored 922 points (13.0 ppg), pulled down 160 rebounds (2.3 rpg), dished out 128 assists (1.8 apg) and recorded 89 steals (1.3 spg) with five blocks in his three years in a Cardinal uniform.

2020-21 (Junior): Played in 23 games earning 21 starts … Led the team and finished ninth in the league in scoring (15.0 ppg) … Also averaged 2.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game … Shot 116-of-300 (.387) from the field, and 70-of-184 (.380) from three-point range … Ranked sixth in the Southland in three-point field goal percentage and second in the league in three-point field goals per game (3.0 pg) … One of the Southland’s top free throw shooters converting 42-of-44 (.955) attempts … Recorded double figures 19 times, including four 20-point performances … Didn’t play until the fifth game of the season, but left his mark on the game at UL Monroe … Came off the bench to score 16 points to help LU rally from a second half double-digit deficit for the victory, but it was his final basket that was the most impressive … With the game tied, Buster took the inbounds pass and launched a 40-footer for the win at the buzzer sounded … The basket was picked as the No. 1 highlight on ESPN Sportscenter’s Top 10 … Netted a season-high 23 points, pulled down four rebounds and dished out one assist against Abilene Christian … Scored 20 points at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and McNeese … Netted 21 points and pulled down four rebounds against Southeastern Louisiana … Scored 19 points and recorded a season-high three steals against Southern Mississippi … Also scored 19 against UIW and Sam Houston … Had two 18 and two 17-point performances.

2019-20 (Sophomore): Played in 29 games earning 23 starts on the season … Was second on the team and 13th in the league averaging 14.6 points per game … Also averaged 2.7 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, 1.8 steals per game and blocked four shots … Ranked sixth in the Southland in three-point field goal percentage (95-of-251/.378) and second in the league in three-point field goals per game (3.3 pg) … Shot 147-of-388 (.379) from the field and was 35-of-44 (.795) from the free throw line … Scored in double figures 23 times, including seven games of at least 20 points … Tied a Southland Conference and LU single-game record with 11 three-pointers in the victory at McNeese … Scored a career-high 39 points, pulled down four rebounds, dished out three assists in that game against the Cowboys despite missing part of the game with an injury … Was named Southland Conference Player of the Week for his efforts against McNeese … Opened the season with 23 points, five rebounds, a career-high nine assists and five steals against Champion Christian … Scored 20 points, pulled down three rebounds and dished out three assists in the victory over Mount St. Mary’s … Scored 12 points, pulled down a career-high seven rebounds, dished out five assists and tied his career high with five steals against Arlington Baptist … Scored 23 points at Texas Southern and New Orleans … Netted 20 points at Houston Baptist … Final 20-point outing came in the rematch with UIW … Knocked down at least four threes in a game 13 times.

2018-19 (Freshman): Played in 19 games … Averaged 8.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.6 steals per game … Also blocked a shot … Shot 55-of-120 (.458) from the field and 35-of-86 (.407) from three-point range … Was 9-of-12 (.750) from the free throw line … Hit double figures eight times on the season, with two 20-point efforts … Came off the bench to score 16 points against Sam Houston State, helping hand SHSU its first conference loss of the season … Prior to that game, Buster had scored a total of 26 points on the year … After the 16-point outing against SHSU, Buster closed the season scoring double figures in seven of the team’s final eight games sparking a nine-game win streak … Had a 14-point outing on 4-of-5 (.800) three-point shooting at Incarnate Word … Followed that up with 17 points at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi ... Set a career-high with 20 points on 8-of-11 (.727) shooting against Houston Baptist … Also pulled down a career-high five rebounds against the Huskies … Improved both career highs the following game with a 21-point, six-rebound effort against Stephen F. Austin … Scored 17 points and pulled down five rebounds against rival McNeese … Ended the season with 14 points in the second round of the SLC tournament against New Orleans.

High School: A two-star prospect … Ranked as the 83rd player in the state of Texas … Garnered district MVP honors as a sophomore … Eclipsed the 2,000-point plateau during his career, setting the central Texas scoring record in just three seasons … In addition to setting the central Texas scoring record he also finished second in the area in steals and third in assists … A first-team All-Central Texas selection … Averaged 27.6 points per game during his junior season to again earn district MVP honors … Averaged 26.8 points, 4.1 assists and 3.4 steals per game as a sophomore … His sophomore season followed a rookie campaign that saw him average 17 points per game and earn district newcomer of the year.
