Myo Baxter-Bell joined the Lamar University coaching staff April 13, 2026. He comes to Beaumont from Longwood where he spent the previous two seasons.
During his time in Farmville, Va., Baxter-Bell was also assigned the added role of player development. He made a similar jump to the NCAA Division I level to that of head coach Jordan Fee moving to Longwood after one season at Gannon University.
During his time with the Golden Knights, he helped coach a PSAC regular-season and tournament champion squad that would advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. Baxter-Bell made the move to GU after spending two seasons on staff at Liberty – his alma mater – where he got his start in coaching.
Baxter-Bell transitioned to the sidelines after a season of playing professional basketball in Argentina (San Isidro Club Athletico). He moved into the professional ranks after a standout four-year player career at Liberty where he guided the Flames to two NCAA tournament appearances – including a second-round appearance in 2019, back-to-back ASUN regular-season and tournament titles and was named 2019 Jerry Colangelo Classic MVP and to the 2017 Big South All-Freshman team.
A 2019 graduate of Liberty, Baxter-Bell returned to Lynchburg, Va., four years later to receive his Master's degree.
