During his time with the Cougars, McDonald helped put together scouting reports for Houston’s upcoming opponents, as well as working with Houston’s analytics team. Prior to joining the Cougars’ video team McDonald served as a manager for two seasons.

In addition to his responsibilities with the Cougars, McDonald spent the summer of 2019 working with Team USA. During that time, he assisted coach Jeff Van Gundy, and his staff, with individual on court workouts and team practices.

McDonald graduated from Houston in May 2019 with a degree in industrial engineering.
