Matthew Pace is entering his second season as the Cardinals director of operations, but it is his second stop in Beaumont. Pace returns to his alma mater where he served as the student director of operations following his playing career. Pace was a member of the LU basketball team during the 2008-09 season.
Following his playing career, Pace accepted a position as a student director of operations. He served in that capacity for the next three seasons, assisting the coaching staff with the day-to-day operations of the office including travel and practice scheduling.
Pace returns to Beaumont after spending the previous two years in the high school ranks. He spent the 2012-13 season at Northland Christian High School where he served as the head coach for the junior varsity squad, and a varsity assistant coach. Last season, Pace accepted the head coaching position at Sabine Pass.
Pace graduated from Lamar in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management.
