Jordan Fee became the 13th head coach in the rich history of the Lamar University basketball program on Saturday, Mar. 14, 2026. The architect of the greatest single-season turnaround in NCAA history, and a National Division II Coach of the Year, Fee has made a meteoric rise up the coaching ranks.

Fee comes to the Golden Triangle after spending the previous two seasons at Florida Atlantic. Originally hired as an assistant coach, Fee was named FAU Associate Head Coach the following the season. During his brief time in Boca Raton, he helped guide the Owls to 36 wins in two years and a earn a spot in the 2025 NIT.

Fee’s quick climb to the NCAA Division I ranks comes as a shock to no one after building a résumé boasting of some of the most prolific offensive numbers in NCAA history. After spending eight seasons at Nova Southeastern University – seven as assistant and the final year as associate head coach – Fee was named head coach at Gannon University. What followed was a turnaround that grabbed national headlines.

Taking over a program that posted a 3-32 (.086) overall record the year before his arrival, Fee literally flipped the script recording a 32-3 (.914) mark, which also saw Gannon make a 17-win improvement in conference play. The Golden Knights would go on to lead NCAA Division II in scoring (100.4 points per game), win the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) regular-season and tournament title, win the NCAA DII Atlantic Region title and advance to the 2024 Division II Elite Eight and record the greatest single-season turnaround in NCAA history, regardless of division or gender. For his efforts, Fee was named both PSAC West Coach of the Year and NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year.

Fee, and the Golden Knights, made headlines during his one season at the helm. Going from a conference also-ran to a national champion contender, the Golden Knights opened the year with a 10-game win streak, set the school’s single-game scoring record twice (140 and 146) and hit the 100-point plateau 16 times during the season. GU also surpassed the home attendance from the previous season within in the first nine games. For his efforts, Fee was also named HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Week.

Fee took over as GU’s head coach following a year where he helped guide Nova Southeastern to a perfect 36-0 record and an NCAA Division II National Championship. NSU climbed to No. 1 in the polls after never having been ranked prior to Fee’s arrival.

Fee has left a paper trail of success that is hard to ignore in the world of collegiate basketball. During his time as either head coach or assistant, Fee has helped coach a National Champion, post a 178-77 (.698) overall record, three NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearances, four NCAA Division II tournament appearances, three South Region Championships, three conference regular season and tournament titles and recruite and develope consecutive DII National Players of the Year. NSU also earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2020 NCAA Division II tournament before it was eventually cancelled due to COVID.

The son of a coach, Fee played one season of basketball at the Air Force Academy Prep School, before heading to Detroit Mercy for his first two years of college basketball. He played in 35 games over two seasons for the Titans before transferring to NCAA Division II powerhouse West Liberty for his final two years helping the Hilltoppers capture two conference and regional titles.

Fee began his coaching career at his alma mater as a volunteer assistant, before taking a graduate assistant position at Clarion (Pa.) University for two years.

Fee received his bachelor’s degree from West Liberty in 2013 and earned his master’s degree from Detroit Mercy in 2015. Fee, and his wife, Jaclyn, are expecting a new addition to the family in March.
