Lamar University Athletics

Kiara Mayo joined the Lamar University staff as Director of Operations in July 2022. She comes to the Golden Triangle from Nashville, Tenn., where she spent the previous year serving as a program assistant at Vanderbilt. 

In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities with the Commodores' program, May also spent five weeks working within the Virtual Diversity Development Series for Football Operations on behalf of the Philadelphia Eagles, and served as an intern for the Amy Adams Strunk Women in Football Training Camp on behalf of the Tennessee Titans. 

Prior to the start of her professional career, Mayo was a student equipment manager at Vanderbilt University, while at the same time holding down an operations internship for Real Love Tennis. Mayo got her start within the athletics world in August 2020 serving in an administrative role for DI Sports Training. 

Mayo received her bachelor's degree from Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tenn., in May 2020. Two years later, she graduated with a Master's of Sports Administration (May 2022).
