Bobby Dodd

Bobby Dodd is entering his second season working with the Lamar University tight ends. During his first season with the Cardinals Dodd produced one of the top young tight ends in the conference. Rising junior Case Robinson was named honorable mention All-Southland Conference following the 2017 season. Even more impressive than Robinson’s production on the field was the fact that he spent the 2016 season as a quarterback.

"I had the privilege of working with Bobby last year, and got a chance to see the hard work that he puts into this program," said LU head coach Mike Schultz. "He was a graduate assistant but had the responsibilities of a full-time coach. He handled everything from position meetings to game planning and had responsibilities with recruiting. I was really very impressed with him, and it was an easy move to elevate him to this position."

Dodd came to LU from Jonesboro, Ark., where he spent the past three seasons working with the Arkansas State quarterbacks and special teams. During his time with the Red Wolves, helped produce the nation’s fourth-ranked kickoff unit. He was also a member of a coaching staff that won the Sun Belt Conference title.

Dodd received his bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State in August 2016.
