Taylor Rich, a Cardinal baseball alum, was named the LU Baseball graduate assistant upon receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Lamar University in the spring of 2019.
Rich pitched 15 games in the Cardinal Red & White, working through 29.1 innings with a 1-3 record and a save. He had a 4.72 ERA in 2019, his final season, before an injury cut short his senior season.
Rich faced several Power 5 opponents in his career including a start at #19 Texas in 2018, as well as nationally-ranked LSU and TCU teams. In 2019 he faced Tulane, BYU, Stephen F. Austin, and McNeese before ending his career.
Prior to coming to Lamar for the 2018 season, Rich worked a 2.57 ERA through 12 appearances at San Jacinto Junior College with 28 strikeouts and a save.
Rich is a native of Lovelady, Texas.
