Prior to Lamar:
• Made the D-3 NCAA Tournament his freshman season.
• Worked to a 1.59 ERA in five appearances and had 11.1 innings pitched.
 
High School:
• First-team all-district hitter his senior season and second-team all-district pitcher his sophomore seasons.
• Helped his team to the state finals his junior year and was a district champoin.
• Back-to-back district champion, junior and senior seasons.
• Member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
 
Personal:
• Born August 29, 1995.
• Son of Denise and Ron Van Winkle.
• One sister, Morgan.
• Majoring in general business.
