Tod McDowell was promoted to full-time assistant coach in November of 2023.
McDowell was a part of current head coach Will Davis' first Lamar recruiting class. McDowell has been with Davis every step of the year from player to student assistant to volunteer coach.
Despite having his playing career cut short due to injury, McDowell turned his focus toward helping the program advance in other ways.
A native of Bridge City, McDowell will play a heavey role in recruiting efforts for a program that has seen multiple nationally ranked overall recruiting classes and junior college transfer classes under Davis' guidance.
