Lamar University Athletics

ABOUT

Established in 2007, Lamar Video is a vital part of Lamar University Athletics, serving as the "in-house" production arm for the department. In 2014, Lamar Video announced the birth of the Big Red Sports Network, a new digital platform for fans to watch all of Lamar University Athletics.

Lamar Video handles all in house content by producing, planning, or consulting on a day to day basis. Weekly content is produced for a number of platforms such as the Big Red Sports Network, YouTube, Twitter/SnappyTV, ESPN3, Southland Digital Network, and recently announced Facebook Live. The department also assists with coach's shows through local stations as well as assisting with radio development for streaming platforms.  Additionally, Lamar Video controls all live video content for on campus athletic videoboards.

Since 2007, Lamar Video and it's subset entities have seen substantial growth. Beginning with one student then, growth has exploded to multiple students and contract labor employees.
