AGENTS AND ADVISORS
Lamar University is committed to ensuring compliance with all applicable NCAA rules and regulation and the Secretary of State/Texas Laws that governs agents and advisors. Within such established guidelines, a Lamar University student-athlete is prohibited from having any agreement (verbal or written) for representation (either present or future). Pursuant to NCAA rules and regulations, it is impermissible for a student-athlete, their relatives, and their friends from receiving any benefits from an agent, including an agent's employee, representative, or affiliate. Agents who seek to contact student-athletes are expected to adhere to the procedure listed below.Â
Â
Educating before legislating is our mantra, therefore, the Athletic Compliance Office will continue its efforts to educate its student-athletes and those present and future agents on NCAA and applicable state legislation regarding amateurism and the use of agents for professional representation. In such, all agents seeking to represent a student-athlete in their future professional sports careers are required to register with LU Athletic Compliance Office by completing the appropriate forms and follow all relevant procedures. Click HERE to access the Lamar University Athletics Agent Application Form(s).Â
