Biography

2018-19 SEASON:
Was one of three Cardinals to appear in all 28 rounds this season… Had a scoring average of 74.46, the fourth best on the team… Recorded five rounds at par or better…. Show a season-low four-under par 68 in the Second Round of the Jim River Intercollegiate.

2017-18 SEASON:
Played in 33 rounds over 11 events… Averaged 74.67 strokes per round… Shot a low round of 2-under par 70 in the third round of the Border Olympics on March 10th… Carded seven rounds at par or better on the season.

2016-17 SEASON:
Competed in nine events, averaging 75.29 strokes per round over 24 rounds … Fired a season-low 3-under 69 in the opening round of The All-American Intercollegiate … Had two rounds under par.

2015-16 SEASON:
Competed in all 12 tournaments for the Cardinals … Averaged 74.4 strokes per round over 34 rounds … Finished in a tie for second at the James S. Litz Memorial, helping LU win the team title … Fired a career-best 67 on two occasions … Ended the season by tying for ninth at the Southland Conference Tournament with a 5-over-par 221 for 54 holes.
 
PRIOR TO LAMAR UNIVERSITY:
Won an HSBC Junior Series event in 2012 by eight shots … Won the Titleist Junior Invitational and Mission Hills Grand Final in 2013, a year he placed eighth in the AJGA Tournament in Oak Valley, Calif. … In 2014, placed fourth at the Mission Hills Desert Junior Championship in Palm Springs, Calif. And ninth at the ASU Karsten Junior Tournament … Qualified for the Nanshan Masters on the One Asia Tour in 2014 … Placed 35th as an amateur in the Wahan Open on the PGA Tour China Series after earning a full exemption on the tour in 2015 … Qualified for the Shenzhen International on the European Tour … Attended Grean Oasis School and Ivy Prep.
 
PERSONAL:
Born Dec. 20, 1996 … Son of Feng Wang and Jing Chen … Father played college basketball … Plans to major in human resources management at LU … Hopes to become the first Chinese player on the PGA Tour.
